Wagner Faith & Freedom Center to Host Constitution Day 2026 at Spring Arbor University

"We Hold These Truths" event will explore the Declaration, the Constitution, and the future of American liberty

The Wagner Faith & Freedom Center will host its Constitution Day 2026 event on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 12:00 noon in the Aspen Room of the Dining Commons on the Spring Arbor University campus.

This year's program, themed "We Hold These Truths: The Declaration, the Constitution, and the Future of American Liberty," marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (1776–2026) and invites students, faculty, and the broader community to reflect on the founding documents that continue to shape American self-governance.

The event's keynote speaker will be the Center's namesake, the Hon. William Wagner (Ret.), WFFC Distinguished Chair for Faith & Freedom. A constitutional law professor, former federal judge, and public servant who has held roles across all three branches of government, Wagner will offer a unique vantage point on the enduring relevance of the Constitution and the principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence.

Constitution Day, observed annually on or near September 17 — the anniversary of the 1787 signing of the U.S. Constitution — commemorates the framing of the nation's founding charter and is intended to encourage civic reflection on constitutional government. The Wagner Faith & Freedom Center's observance situates that tradition within its broader mission of promoting religious liberty, constitutional fidelity, and civic engagement.

The event is free and open to the public.
